Visa cancellation in the UAE is a mandatory legal procedure to officially terminate a residence visa issued under employment, family sponsorship, or investment categories. It applies to individuals who are:

The process involves two key steps:

  1. Work Permit Cancellation – via the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE), if the individual is employed.

  2. Residence Visa Cancellation – via the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA).

This procedure must be completed before the visa holder can legally exit the UAE or apply for a new visa.

  2. Visit a DHA- or EAS -Approved Centre: Undergo your pre-employment screening at an authorised medical fitness centre.
